After the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S3, you might have noticed that most of the flip cases are designed in a way that is similar to opening a book(some call it ‘book type flip case’). Some of the users might find it difficult to hold the phone with that type of cases, especially who are used with the ones that opens from up to down. This is going to be a review of such a case(that open from up to down), manufactured by Case-Mate named Signature Flip Case for the Samsung Galaxy S3. Let’s see if its worth the price it asks.
At the first glance, what I’ve noticed about the Signature Flip Case is its beautifully stitched leather.
At the first glance, what I’ve noticed about the Signature Flip Case is its beautiful stitched design, and the pleasant leathery smell(some may not like it, as I have read from a user). While the front and back is not soft, it provides a premium feel. The craftsmanship of Case-Mate is visible in the product. I’m reviewing the white version for my white Galaxy S3. You have a black option to choose from, too. I would have preferred a blue version also, for the Pebble Blue Galaxy S3s.
The white version of the Signature Flip case looks fabulous when paired with a white Galaxy S3. The only problem of most of the white cases is that, it’ll get dirty soon after we start using. But that won’t be a problem for a person who keeps his/her phone in their pockets, bags or purses all the time. The plain front white with no marking of the company or the phone makes it elegant, while at the back on the bottom, there’s a barely visible CASE-MATE(with the symbol) marking.
It was easy installing the case, just by pushing the phone into it which is usual for flip cases except for the ones like the genuine Samsung Flip Case which replaces the phone’s battery cover. The case doesn’t add too much bulk to the phone, and is light-weight too. It has almost the same thickness as of the ROCK Big City Flip Case(book type) which I reviewed earlier.
It is well suited for those who don’t want a case that makes their phone look ugly.
While it won’t be as protective as the ARMORSERIES from Otterbox, it’ll suffice small drops. It is suited for who don’t want any case to make their phone look ugly. The case protects the the screen and the back from scratches.
The volume rockers and the lock/unlock button are easily accessible. The cut outs for the speaker, camera, and the LED flash aren’t perfect which is familiar with non-genuine cases, but not too imperfect or one won’t find that easily. One will have to keep the case open while charging the phone and won’t be able to use a dock, just like every other flip case( OEM Samsung Flip Case is an exception), but it is nothing to complain about.
The Case-Mate Signature Flip Case for the Samsung Galaxy S3 is a great choice which offers a premium feel while holding, great looks and adequate protection for a reasonable price at around Rs. 2095 ($34.99). I highly recommend this for the people who are looking for a great flip case that shouts of quality and value. It is certainly one of the best flip case out there in the market.
